A pair of modernist abstract sculptures hand-carved from soapstone, in the style of contemporary Kenyan Shona carving. Each piece depicts a highly stylised human figure, featuring a spherical head atop a continuous, looping body that creates an ovoid silhouette. The figures taper down to integral, flared circular plinths. One sculpture is rendered in a cream-toned stone with significant natural brown surface mottling and pitting, while the other is composed of a smoother, tan-coloured stone. These forms are frequently identified with themes of family and unity within the East African carving tradition. No maker marks or signatures are visible.
