Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises a documented three-piece tea service including a teapot, milk jug, and twin-handled sugar bowl. An accompanying handwritten note attributes the design and manufacture of this set to Fred Hunter, produced circa 1950 while employed by Potters of Howard Street, Sheffield. The note indicates the set was primarily intended for export. The service is constructed from a base metal alloy displaying heavy iridescent surface tarnish. Also included in the collection is a large coffeepot or percolator featuring a basket-weave textured lower body, a black composite handle, and a clear glass lid finial. The group features two pewter tankards with cast hunting scenes, one of which is fitted with a figural handle in the form of a fox, and a circular pewter ashtray. A cast white-metal model of a vintage tractor is present, incorporating a thermometer gauge into a rear wheel. Flatware includes a cased set of six knives with green synthetic handles and an assortment of loose vintage cutlery with bone-effect and marbled handles, some marked Sheffield and Stainless Steel. The lot is completed by a group of commemorative and souvenir spoons, including examples in presentation boxes marked Stuart and several loose spoons with enamelled crests for international locations such as Malta and Paris. A large decorative serving spoon with a pierced and embossed bowl is also included.
