A collection of coins comprising the 1996 United Kingdom Proof Coin Collection issued by The Royal Mint. The set is presented in its original dark green folder with an accompanying Certificate of Authenticity. It includes a five-pound crown commemorating the 70th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, a two-pound coin for the 1996 European Football Championship, a one-pound coin with the Northern Ireland Celtic Cross reverse, and the standard circulating denominations: fifty pence, twenty pence, ten pence, five pence, two pence, and one penny. All coins are struck to proof standards with frosted relief and mirrored fields. A rectangular commemorative plaque marked Elizabeth R 1996 is also included within the display. The coins are secured in a clear plastic protective case with a black insert.
