A collection of United Kingdom cupro-nickel 50 pence coins struck by the Royal Mint. This group belongs to the commemorative series issued to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Beatrix Potter. The reverse of each heptagonal coin features a character from the author’s stories, with this lot including designs for Flopsy Bunny, Jemima Puddle-Duck, The Tailor of Gloucester, Peter Rabbit, and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle. The designs include the character names or book titles inscribed in relief. The Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle coin further includes the denomination 50 PENCE. These coins were issued for general circulation and feature the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark on the obverse.
