This lot comprises two vintage Scottish-style plume brooches, intended for use as kilt pins or bonnet pins. The first brooch features a silver-tone metal thistle emblem set within a horseshoe, accented with a central faceted amber-coloured stone. The plume is composed of varied feathers, including pheasant tail and plumage with dyed accents in pink, turquoise, and green. The reverse is fitted with a standard pin and safety catch. The second brooch depicts a silver-tone stag’s head with antlers, set with a large faceted dark red stone. The feather spray includes pheasant plumage with dyed highlights in magenta, yellow, and blue. This piece has a long pin backing suitable for heavy fabric. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are present on either item.
