A large wall-mounted decorative assembly of mid-20th-century origin, composed of carved and painted wooden elements affixed to a natural leather backing. The design is executed in a stylised Egyptian Revival manner, featuring a symmetrical composition. The central motifs include two semi-circular panels decorated with polychrome lotus flower designs in shades of terracotta, white, and black pigment. These flank a central polished wooden core with a recessed aperture. Extending from the centre is a long, tapering wooden section finished with a pale green wash and incised geometric zigzag borders. Two separate leaf-shaped wooden elements with incised vein details and green pigment are positioned adjacent to the main body. The entire assembly is mounted on a large, irregular piece of dark brown leather hide which includes integrated leather thongs on the left side. This piece is an artistic interpretation produced for decorative purposes.
