A Noritake fine porcelain partial tea and breakfast service, featuring a transfer-printed decoration of polychrome floral sprays against a white and cream-banded ground. The design is complemented by a blue scrolling geometric border and gilt-lined rims. The underside of the pieces bears the printed backstamp with Noritake in script above a laurel wreath and the words Nippon Toki Kaisha, a mark used by the factory between circa 1946 and 1953. The service consists of twenty pieces including a lidded teapot, a lidded twin-handled sugar bowl, a milk jug, five teacups, six saucers, and six side plates.
