A French folding pocket knife by Batisse of Thiers, produced in the Spanish navaja style. The single carbon steel blade features a clipped point and a decorative notched step on the spine. The blade’s tang is stamped with the Batisse maker’s mark beneath a semi-circular arc and fleur-de-lis symbol. The handle is of complex multi-part construction with pinned brass bolsters and fittings. The scales are composed of contrasting sections: a dark section, likely horn, with an inlaid metal shield, and a light-coloured bone section decorated with hand-incised floral and foliate motifs. The pommel features three decorative brass buttons and a brass lanyard ring.
