This lot comprises two vintage brooches of differing styles. The first is an ornate rectangular filigree brooch in a gilt-toned metal, possibly brass. It features an intricate openwork design with scrolling foliate patterns and beadwork. The piece is set with a large central rectangular step-cut blue glass stone, surrounded by four oval mother-of-pearl cabochons and eight smaller circular faceted blue glass stones. The reverse is fitted with a long pin and a simple C-clasp, bearing a small stamped mark that is currently illegible. The second item is an Egyptian Revival souvenir brooch in a silver-toned metal. The central motif is a red Egyptian postage stamp depicting King Farouk I, inscribed FIVE MILLIEMES and in Arabic script. The stamp is set under a clear protective layer and is flanked by two cast pharaonic heads with blue and orange enamel highlights to the nemes headdresses. The reverse is fitted with a pin and C-clasp, showing a mark that is not clearly legible.
