A mid-20th century electric mantel clock produced by Smiths English Clocks Ltd under the Sectric brand. The clock is housed in a dark brown Bakelite case featuring a streamlined rectangular form with rounded edges and a chrome-plated square bezel. The dial has a two-tone silvered finish with black Arabic numerals oriented towards the centre and stylized black hands. The dial is marked SMITHS SECTRIC at the centre and MADE IN ENGLAND at the base. The reverse movement housing is embossed with several British patent numbers (368388, 374713, 384441, 484222), SMITHS ENGLISH CLOCKS, MADE IN ENGLAND, and electrical specifications of 200/250V 50 cycles. It also bears a stylized SEC logo and instructions for setting the hands by pressing and turning the knob. The unit retains an original brown two-core power cable and a vintage brown two-pin plug.
