A vintage advertising mirror for J.W. Oxby and Son, an independent bookmaking firm based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The mirror features multi-coloured screen-printed or painted graphics. The company name is rendered in blue serif lettering at the top, followed by the text of Doncaster in yellow cursive script. The central motif consists of a red circle enclosing a black silhouette of a jockey and horse, flanked by the date Est. 1962 in red characters. The lower section displays the slogan ALWAYS A SAFE BET in yellow sans-serif lettering. The composition is finished with black and grey decorative scroll borders in each corner. The mirror is housed in a simple stained wooden frame.
