The group is crafted from textured ceramic with a dry, matte finish in shades of brown and earth tones, with a dark wash applied to highlight the wrinkles and folds of the skin. Both figures feature large, inset, dark brown glazed eyes with applied eyelashes. The calf is modelled with an open mouth containing two white-glazed teeth. The piece is finished with small applied ceramic details, including a yellow flower on the mother’s left ear and a yellow blossom with a green leaf on the calf’s leg.
