A pair of rectangular lidded boxes hand-carved from a light-coloured soft stone. The lids feature hand-painted silhouette scenes in an African-inspired style; one depicts two figures playing drums beside a tall vessel, and the other shows two elephants beneath a stylised tree. The decoration is primarily black with accents of pink, yellow, and green. The sides of the boxes are painted with vertical bands of green, yellow, and red. Each box is constructed with corner lacing using black cord through pre-drilled holes. No maker marks or signatures are visible on either piece.
