A late 19th or early 20th-century fitted needlework set housed in a hexagonal polished wood case, likely mahogany, featuring a trapezoidal dark wood inlay on the lid. The interior is lined with royal purple velvet and trimmed with a decorative yellow cord. The inside of the lid holds two semi-circular needle-retaining pads made of a bone-coloured material and a central circular pin cushion with a purple velvet centre. The base of the case contains an assortment of steel implements, including crochet hooks of various sizes, knitting needles, and bodkins. These tools are secured by cream-coloured fabric straps decorated with blue cross-stitch patterns. One implement is stamped with the manufacturer mark MORRALLS, identifying the set as a product of Abel Morrall Limited of Redditch.
