A German musical chalet-style cuckoo wall clock manufactured by Anton Schneider Soehne in the Black Forest. The clock features a hand-carved and stained wooden case in the form of a traditional alpine chalet, including a shingled roof and a half-timbered facade. The scene contains several animated elements: a rotating water wheel, a carousel of four dancing couples on a balcony above the dial, and two woodcutters situated on the platform, one wielding an axe and the other a cross-cut saw. A carved figure of a dog is also present on the platform. The wooden dial features applied wooden Roman numerals and carved wooden hands, with the maker’s name SCHNEIDER and MADE IN GERMANY visible. The clock is powered by a mechanical weight-driven movement designed to provide a cuckoo call on the hour and half-hour, followed by a musical movement which activates the carousel and external animations. The lot is accompanied by a trio of cast-metal pinecone-shaped weights, each marked with 1500.
