Buyer's Premium:

A collection of sixteen Victorian and later ceramic earthenware tiles, likely of British manufacture. The assortment includes several distinct decorative styles and sizes typical of late 19th-century architectural ceramics. Two tiles are six-inch square transfer-printed examples; one features a green-toned botanical floral design within a quatrefoil border, and the other displays a similar sepia-toned floral arrangement. Two large relief-molded tiles, also approximately six inches square, are finished in a mustard-yellow ochre glaze and decorated with stylized scrolling foliage and shell motifs. The collection also includes twelve small relief-molded and glazed tiles, approximately three inches square. Six of these smaller tiles feature a relief-molded sunflower or daisy motif in a greenish-yellow glaze, while the remaining six are plain tiles with a deep manganese brown glaze. The styles and glazes are characteristic of those produced by prominent late 19th-century English manufacturers such as Minton, Maw and Co., or Craven Dunnill. No factory marks are visible on the front surfaces.

Large tiles: 15.2 cm x 15.2 cm approx.
Small tiles: 7.6 cm x 7.6 cm approx.
