A Beswick glazed ceramic figurine of a field mouse, identified as model number 1512, originally designed by Albert Hallam. This naturalist study depicts a mouse with variegated brown fur and a cream underside, shown perched upon an ear of yellow corn. The figure is mounted on a textured base designed to resemble a mossy stone, finished in mottled tones of grey, brown, and green. The mouse has a long, pinkish-beige tail that curls around the base. The underside of the figurine features a black printed backstamp arranged in a curve that reads BESWICK ENGLAND. Additionally, there is a small hand-painted brown decorator’s mark in the shape of a cross and a small black paint dab near the ventilation hole.
