A UK Queen Victoria silver Maundy one penny coin. The reverse design features the standard Maundy type with a large crowned numeral 1 centred within an oak wreath tied at the base with a ribbon. The date 1864 is positioned with the digits split by the central numeral. The coin is struck in sterling silver (.925 fineness). It is housed in a blue velvet-lined presentation case. Note that while the coin is dated 1864, it is accompanied by a printed paper label identifying it as 1863. Maundy coins were produced in limited quantities for ceremonial distribution by the monarch on Maundy Thursday.
