This lot comprises two United Kingdom commemorative coin presentation sets in their original retail packaging. The first is a 2002 Golden Jubilee commemorative set, featuring a Crown-denomination coin housed in a purple card presentation folder. The folder is inscribed in gold lettering with “A CELEBRATION OF THE LIFE AND SERVICE OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II GOLDEN JUBILEE UNITED KINGDOM CROWN” and includes a corresponding booklet with a portrait of the monarch. The second item is a 1994 commemorative set for the 50th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings, containing a Fifty Pence (50p) coin. The presentation folder features an illustration of the landings and is inscribed “50th Anniversary of the D-DAY LANDINGS FIFTY PENCE COMMEMORATIVE COIN”. Both sets are official Royal Mint issues. The coins are presumed to be cupro-nickel based on the standard issue for these presentation folders.
