This lot comprises two mid-to-late 20th-century decorative oil paintings on stretched canvas. The first work is a monochromatic mountain landscape featuring a lake and pine trees, executed with a vigorous impasto and palette knife technique. It includes small red accents within the scenery and is signed G. WHITMAN to the lower right. The painting is presented in a dark wood-effect frame with a gilt inner slip. The second painting is a coastal seascape at sunset, depicting waves breaking against a rocky shore in a warm palette of ochres, oranges, and yellows. It is signed Schubert to the lower right and is housed in an ornate, deep-profile gilded frame with a linen liner. Both works are characteristic of commercial gallery art from the period.
