A collection of brass and iron fireplace accessories. The lot includes a brass helmet-form coal scuttle, decorated with a hand-hammered upper section and a lower body featuring repoussé scenes of a Dutch-style tavern with figures in 17th-century dress. The scuttle is fitted with a cast brass swing handle. Included are two pairs of andirons: the first pair is larger and more ornate, featuring multi-tiered cast brass stems with foliage motifs and tripod bases with scrolling acanthus leaves; the second pair is smaller with brass ball finials and cabriole legs. All andirons are fitted with iron hearth support bars. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
