This collection consists of mid-20th-century British decorative metalwork, typically used for hearthside or wall display. The lot features three large circular wall chargers with repousse decoration. One copper-toned charger depicts a traditional fox hunting scene with figures on horseback and hounds. A second copper-toned charger illustrates a tavern interior with figures seated at a table. The third charger is brass-toned and depicts a three-masted galleon at sea. All three chargers are finished with wide borders of ornate foliate and floral scrollwork.
The lot also includes a set of brass hearth tools with cast foliate handles, comprising a shovel with a decorative pierced blade, a pair of fire tongs, and a poker. An additional matching handle is present, though the associated brush head is missing. Furthermore, there are two traditional brass skimmers with pierced circular bowls and long wrought handles ending in hanging loops. Finally, the collection includes a graduated set of four small brass jugs or measures of baluster form with simple handles.
Materials: Brass and copper.
