An assortment of vintage household items featuring two sets of cast-iron balance scales and various decorative lithographed tins. One set of grocer’s scales is constructed from cast iron with a black finish and gold-toned decorative flourishes. The frame is cast with the text TO WEIGH 7lb and bears a manufacturer’s mark for J&J SIDDONS LTD. WEST BROMWICH. This set includes a green enamel pan. A second set of cast-iron scales is finished in yellow paint and is accompanied by a white enamel pan and a set of five graduated cast-iron weights. The collection includes several lithographed metal tins: a round light-blue tin featuring a portrait of a woman in a hat, a round dark-blue tin for HARVEYS COPPER BEECH SHERRY, a small orange round tin with floral motifs, a rectangular cream-coloured patterned tin, and a rectangular purple tin depicting KING GEORGE VI. Also included are two small handheld tools with wooden handles and metal components.
