An earthenware jug of flared form, part of the Gallery Collection by Wade. The vessel features a distinctive handle designed with three graduated circular apertures. The central decoration depicts a stylised blue bird, resembling a bird of paradise or peacock, nestled amongst bright orange fruit and green foliage, executed in a bold Art Deco inspired style against a cream ground. The base of the jug is finished with concentric bands in orange and black. The base bears a comprehensive backstamp in black and red reading THE GALLERY COLLECTION above a central motif of the bird pattern. To the right, the text reads PARADISE INSPIRED BY ORIGINAL 1930S WADE HEATH DESIGNS. Below this is the WADE logo in red with MADE IN ENGLAND at the base of the stamp. There is an incised numeral 3 and small black potter marks present.
Height: Approximately 16.5 cm.
