A mid-20th-century MacGregor leather baseball glove, attributed to the Gripper Pocket model, accompanied by a period baseball. The glove is manufactured from heavy-gauge brown leather and features a button-back wrist strap with original lacing. The metal snap fastener on the wrist strap is marked with the MacGregor name in red cursive script. There is a handwritten inscription in ink on the reverse of the wrist strap which reads John Cia followed by further illegible characters. Two white inventory labels bearing the number 340 are adhered to the glove. The accompanying baseball is a well-used period example with stitched seams and a leather cover, though no maker stamps are discernible.
