Two Royal Doulton glazed ceramic figurines depicting characters in an Orientalist style. The first figure, titled The Potter (HN 1493), depicts a seated craftsman wearing a hooded rust-coloured robe and a white head covering. He is shown decorating a yellow vessel and is surrounded by various glazed pots and jars in shades of green, pink, blue, and yellow. The base features an underglaze green factory mark with a crown over a circular Royal Doulton stamp, the words Made in England, the title in green script, model number HN. 1493, an incised number 9, and a small blue hand-painted decorator mark. The second figure, titled Bluebeard (HN 2105), depicts a standing male figure with a long dark beard and a multi-coloured turban. He wears a black cloak over a patterned tunic in shades of pink, orange, and yellow, and holds a scimitar with a wood-effect handle. The base includes an underglaze green factory mark, the title Blue Beard., model number HN. 2105., a copyright date of 1952, and the Doulton and Co Limited company mark.
