This pair of flat-weave textile wall hangings features stylized architectural landscapes in a modern, geometric style. The pieces are rendered in a cool-toned palette of blues, greys, and whites. One hanging depicts a large blue structure, possibly a church with cross-like finials, against a light blue ground. The second hanging shows a cluster of white and grey buildings with small dark windows against a deep navy blue background, suggestive of Mediterranean or Cycladic architecture. Both textiles are constructed using a flat-weave technique and are finished with a long tasselled fringe at the top edge and integral woven loops at the bottom. They are currently mounted on circular wooden hanging rods. No maker’s marks or signatures are present; two small white adhesive labels printed with the numerals 1009 are visible on the front of the right-hand hanging.
