A collection of ceramic tea and coffee services comprising three distinct groups. The first group is a porcelain coffee service decorated with transfer-printed madder-red bands featuring gilt scrolling foliate and floral motifs. The set includes a tall lidded pot, a lidded twin-handled sugar bowl, a cream jug, several teacups, and saucers. The second group is a porcelain service in an oriental style, featuring hand-painted landscape scenes with mountains, pagodas, and large pink floral motifs. These pieces incorporate black-glazed sections and gilt-finished handles and rims, comprising a tall lidded pot, a twin-handled lidded sugar bowl, a cream jug, several teacups, and a saucer. The third group is a contemporary service in earthenware or ironstone, decorated with a transfer-printed repeating border in grey and pink with stylised floral and geometric motifs, consisting of several mugs and saucers. No maker’s marks are visible on the pieces. A small adhesive label with the number 4534 is present on the lid of the red coffee pot.
