A late 20th-century Russian lacquer box from the Fedoskino school, constructed from papier-mâché. The lid features a hand-painted scene in oil paints depicting a blonde female figure, likely Thumbelina or a forest spirit, dressed in blue and set within a dark landscape of green foliage and small blue flowers. The lid bears two inscriptions in gold Cyrillic script: Федоскино 88 (transliterated as Fedoskino 88) along the upper right edge and Телезнова (transliterated as Teleznova) along the lower right edge. The underside of the base is marked in gold with the English phrase Made in USSR and the Cyrillic inventory mark инв. № 15810 (transliterated as Inv. No. 15810).
