A pair of mid-century modern style wall plaques depicting the profile busts of a young boy and girl. The figures are rendered in a silhouette style with a matt black finish and hand-painted white details, including chequered patterns on the headbands, hairbands, and bows. The items are constructed from hand-painted matt-finished chalkware. The upper plaque, depicting a boy, features the incised number 513 on the right-hand edge. The lower plaque, depicting a girl, features the incised number 512 on the right-hand edge. These model numbers and the specific sculptural style are attributed to the mid-20th-century manufacturer Duron, whose designs were often produced by companies such as Bossons or Legend Products.
