A pair of mid-20th century road or railway warning lanterns attributed to Chalwyn. These lanterns are constructed from red-painted sheet metal with a square body and a hinged top lid providing access to the interior. Each unit features a large circular white-painted metal bezel on the front face, housing a central red glass lens. The interior compartment contains additional red glass lenses configured to provide multi-directional signaling. Each lantern is fitted with a large, curved metal carrying handle attached to the side. The design is characteristic of British roadworks and railway safety lamps from the mid-1900s.
