An original British Army souvenir belt, traditionally known as a ‘hate belt’ or ‘trophy belt’, comprising a collection of military insignia mounted on a dark brown textured leather strap. The belt is adorned with an assortment of British Army cap badges, collar badges, and buttons, secured using original split-pins and improvised wire fasteners. Identifiable insignia include a bi-metal cap badge for the Dorsetshire Regiment featuring a castle and sphinx, a white metal badge for the Duke of Wellington’s (West Riding Regiment), and a bi-metal Paschal Lamb badge for The Queen’s (Royal West Surrey Regiment). Further badges include a bi-metal York and Lancaster Regiment badge featuring the Union rose, a brass dragon badge for The Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment), and a Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) badge. The belt also carries various brass and white metal buttons, including a United States Army General Service button featuring the Great Seal. The leather strap features a cross-hatched textured finish and remains in its original configuration.
