A tall cylindrical studio pottery vessel by Northern Irish ceramicist Diane McCormick. The exterior is divided into two distinct decorative zones. The upper portion features a pale buff glaze decorated with hand-painted blue line work depicting a stylised animal motif, possibly a dog containing a rectangular orange field and surrounded by red circular spots. The lower section is finished in a mottled, textured orange-brown glaze and is adorned with numerous raised, pointed prunts. The underside of the base features an impressed circular maker’s mark with the name McCORMICK and diane surrounding a central OK and S 9.
