A pair of traditional earthenware mixing bowls of rounded form, featuring a light tan or cane-coloured exterior glaze and a contrasting white glazed interior. The exterior of each vessel is decorated with a characteristic relief pattern comprising a repeating diamond lattice motif to the upper body and vertical fluting towards the base, finished with a wide, flared rim. The base of the larger bowl features an impressed circular mark with a top arc reading MASON CASH & CO, centered with MADE IN ENGLAND above the size numeral 12, and a bottom arc reading CHURCH GRESLEY. The smaller bowl is of similar construction and design. These bowls represent the classic utility ware produced in the Derbyshire pottery district.
