A collection of costume jewellery brooches and pins, largely dating from the mid-20th century. The group includes a square-set cluster brooch featuring four large faceted purple glass stones surrounded by clear and blue aurora borealis (AB) rhinestones in a gilt-metal effect setting. Also present is a large bow-shaped brooch encrusted with round-cut light blue rhinestones on a textured white metal base, and a layered star-shaped brooch set with numerous multi-coloured AB rhinestones. Floral and novelty motifs are represented by a black enamel oval brooch with a cloisonné-style floral design, a bird-shaped pin with green and white enamel wings and a red glass eye, and a textured white metal leaf brooch set with a single teardrop pearl. Further items include a rhinestone-set open heart pin, a floral spray brooch featuring multiple white pearls on wire stems, a circular gilt-metal effect brooch with alternating red and clear glass stones, and a rectangular open-frame brooch set with clear rhinestones. A larger ornate gilt-metal effect brooch features a central oval cabochon of amber-toned glass. Other pins include a long bar pin, a mother-of-pearl circular brooch with white metal overlay, and various small rhinestone-set floral sprays. The reverse of the items are not visible and no legible maker’s names are recorded.
