A vintage MRC portable SSB transceiver, model M-458, housed within a fitted black textured protective carry case with metal stud fasteners. The front panel features a brushed metal and black finish with a range of analogue and digital controls including a rotary channel selector, mode switch for LSB, AM, and USB, squelch, volume with integrated power switch, and a clarifier dial. Two toggle switches are present for Noise Blanker (NB) and indicator (IND) functions. The unit is equipped with a digital numeric channel display and analogue signal meters for receive and transmit levels. The faceplate is clearly marked with the MRC logo and model number M-458. It includes a matching handheld MRC branded microphone with a coiled cord, connected via a multi-pin socket on the lower front panel. A two-pin socket for external power is also located on the faceplate.
