A First World War commemorative trench art model cannon of cast white metal construction. The smooth-bore barrel is of stepped form, mounted upon an ornate carriage featuring elaborate openwork cheeks and trailing trails decorated with scrolling floral motifs and foliate details. The cannon is supported by two ten-spoke wheels. The right-hand side of the carriage cheek features a cast circular medallion with the relief inscription GREAT WAR 1914 1919. The piece is finished with a darkened metallic patina throughout.
