A substantial collection of assorted flatware including forks, spoons, and knives of various patterns and construction. The lot includes a group of knives with tapered, dark brown wooden handles and a selection of forks and knives with off-white, cream-coloured handles? likely bone or an early synthetic resin. The white metal pieces feature various traditional patterns including Fiddle, Old English, and King?s pattern alongside more modern utilitarian designs. One spoon handle is clearly stamped with the marks A1 and EPNS, identifying it as a high-quality white metal alloy with a nickel-silver base. Other various stamped marks are visible on the shanks and terminals of several pieces but are not sufficiently legible to identify specific makers or assay offices. The collection is housed within a blue plastic crate.
