A collection of polychrome decorated ceramic vessels of varied forms and styles. The group includes a large earthenware pedestal vase of ovoid form with a scalloped rim, featuring hand-painted Italianate majolica style decoration including birds, a stag, and scrolling foliate motifs set between banded geometric borders. Also present is an earthenware baluster vase with a scalloped rim and gilt metal effect neck ring, decorated in the Satsuma manner with raised enamel moriage and gilding depicting peacocks amidst pine trees and flowers. A modern white porcelain? vase of tapered hexagonal form is decorated with transfer-printed still life fruit motifs including pears, grapes, and plums. The collection is completed by a flared trumpet-form earthenware vase with a purple-washed textured ground and hand-painted wildflower bouquet, and a cylindrical lidded preserve jar with high-relief impasto fruit decoration and a berry-shaped finial. The interior of the purple flared vase is finished with a contrasting ochre glaze.
