A collection of blue and white transfer-printed earthenware tablewares featuring various pastoral and classical landscape scenes. The assembly includes a large rectangular lidded vegetable tureen with scrolling handles and a foliate finial, a large footed open vegetable bowl or planter with a flaring rim, and a large breakfast cup with a matching saucer featuring a gilt scalloped edge. Also included are a lidded sugar bowl, an open waste bowl, and a small stand or butter tub base. The pieces are decorated with variations of rural and Italianate scenes, including classical ruins, cattle, and sheep, framed by dense floral or geometric borders. A blue printed mark is present on the underside of the tureen lid and the footed bowl, though the characters are not clearly legible. One saucer features a distinctive gilt-rimmed edge that differs from the floral border of the accompanying cup.
