A Masonic fraternal collar of the Order of Athelstan?, constructed from maroon grosgrain ribbon. The collar is of traditional V-shape design, featuring a double border of woven gold-tone metallic braid. A central woven slider in a basketweave pattern secures the base of the ribbon. Suspended from the point by a circular loop is a gilt-metal effect jewel. The jewel consists of a circular outer frame containing an equilateral triangle, within which is a central five-pointed crown with raised orbs on each point. The background behind the crown features radiating sunburst lines. The reverse of the medal shows a stippled, textured finish. No legible maker’s marks or assay marks are present on the metalwork.
