A collection of ceramics featuring two fine bone china teapots and two large earthenware jars. The teapots are produced by Whittard of Chelsea, decorated with blue transfer-printed illustrations after John Tenniel for Lewis Carrolls Alice in Wonderland. The larger teapot depicts Alice at a tea table with the foot rim inscribed Up above the world you fly, like a tea-tray. The smaller teapot features the Mad Hatter and March Hare. Both teapots include lids with a banner reading DRINK ME. The bases bear a circular printed mark reading Whittard CHELSEA 1886 DESIGNED IN ENGLAND / DISHWASHER & MICROWAVE SAFE / FINE BONE CHINA around a foliated W monogram. Accompanied by two large ovoid earthenware jars decorated with hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue and cream patterns; one in a harlequin checkerboard and the other in vertical stripes. These jars feature thick, rounded rims and are unmarked.
