A Neoclassical style floor lamp featuring a slender, reeded columnar stem. The stem is decorated with two gadrooned bulbous knops at the base, leading to a circular stepped pedestal with a weighted bottom for stability. The lamp is constructed from metal with a gilt metal effect finish throughout. It is fitted with a standard bayonet bulb holder and currently houses a compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) bulb. The electrical components include a brown insulated cable and a white UK 3-pin plug marked with the BS 1363 standard. A white-coated wire shade frame is present, designed to support a fabric or paper shade. No manufacturer marks or signatures are legible on the piece.
