A table lamp constructed from a converted vintage brass garden syringe. The lamp features a cylindrical brass body with a turned wooden handle and is mounted vertically upon a rectangular wooden base with brass-clad sides. The brass barrel is stamped with a literal maker’s mark within an oval cartouche reading “THE FLORIST’S FRIEND”, “SPRAYING SYRINGE”, “No 4A”, and “MYSTO”. The syringe, manufactured by W.T. French & Son of Birmingham, has been repurposed with the internal plunger removed to accommodate electrical wiring. The piece is fitted with a brass B22 bayonet bulb holder and brown fabric-covered flex, terminating in a black BS 1363 UK 3-pin plug. The brass surfaces exhibit a natural aged patina with areas of tarnish and surface scuffs consistent with previous utilitarian use.
