A large Canadian? studio art glass basket of sculptural, organic form. The vessel is constructed using the sommerso technique, featuring a vibrant orange and amber core encased within a thick clear glass exterior. The body is worked into a deep, pinched heart-like shape with flared rims, rising to a tall, clear glass handle. The handle is formed of two tapering arches that are twisted and fused at the apex. The piece is supported by a substantial clear glass pedestal base with four distinct lobed feet. The glass exhibits characteristic tool marks and occasional small air bubbles (seeds) within the metal, consistent with hand-blown production.
Height: Approximately 35.5 cm.
