A religious colour print on paper depicting the ‘Madonna of the Veil’, rendered in the manner of Roberto Ferruzzi?. The image shows the Virgin Mary in three-quarter profile, wearing a deep turquoise-blue veil over a red garment, set against a pale background with a subtle radiating halo. The work is presented behind glass within a cream-coloured mount. The housing consists of a gilt-metal effect composite frame featuring beaded and scrolled foliate relief moulding. The reverse of the frame bears a white rectangular adhesive label which reads N. MANN & SONS PICTURE FRAME MAKERS 7 MONMOUTH STREET, LONDON WC2H 9DA Telephone: 01-836 9049 Established 1849. The backing board is secured with aged brown adhesive tape and fitted with a white hanging cord.
