A collection of blue and white transfer-printed earthenware tableware in the Italian pattern, comprising 32 pieces in total. The set features classical Italianate landscape scenes with ruins, pastoral figures, and livestock, framed by intricate floral and foliate borders. Included are various serving pieces such as a large oval platter, a deep rectangular serving dish, and two lidded rectangular containers including a butter dish. The group also features multiple mugs of varying forms, a large measuring jug with internal markings for “Pint fl. oz Litre”, and a selection of dinner and tea plates. Two quilted fabric kitchen textiles, a tea cosy and an oven mitt, accompany the ceramics and feature a coordinating print. While some pieces bear printed blue backstamps, the resolution does not permit a definitive reading of the text, although the pattern is characteristic of the Spode Blue Italian line.
