A pair of ceramic Staffordshire spaniel figurines, also known as Wally dogs, depicted in the traditional seated Cavalier King Charles Spaniel pose. The figures are constructed from earthenware with a white glaze, featuring hand-painted copper-toned gilt highlights that delineate the fur texture, collars, lockets, and draped chains. The facial details, including the eyes and muzzles, are picked out in black and amber-coloured glazes. The dogs are designed as a matched pair, posed to face outwards in opposite directions. The undersides are glazed white and appear to be unmarked.
Height: 30 cm.
