A Japanese miniature four-panel folding table screen (byobu) and a ceramic decorative bowl. The screen features gilt and polychrome paper panels set within a black lacquered frame with metal corner protectors. The interior panels depict a continuous narrative scene in the Ukiyo-e style; the left panels show figures in traditional kimonos near a fenced garden with a checkered canopy, while the right panels depict a procession beneath flowering cherry blossom trees against a gold leaf background. The reverse side is covered in a silk brocade fabric with a repeating floral and leaf pattern.

The accompanying ceramic bowl is of rounded form with a pale yellow glazed ground and a white metal rim. The exterior is decorated with a transfer-printed or hand-painted street scene in a European style, depicting figures in 18th-century attire before half-timbered buildings. The interior of the bowl is finished with a plain yellow glaze.
Diameter: 18 cm.
