A substantial collection of domestic knitting supplies and reference material. The lot includes a large assortment of yarn skeins and hand-wound balls in a varied palette including cream, pale blue, pink, lilac, yellow, mint green, navy blue, and black. A partially completed light blue knitted garment is present within the group. One skein bears an adhesive label for Copley Cara and another white skein retains a partial manufacturer’s label. The textile components are accompanied by a large group of printed ephemera, including a Richard Poppleton? vintage knitting pattern booklet, number 1774, and numerous craft magazines and instructional booklets. Also included are two hardbound books containing technical diagrams and charts. The items are housed within a multicoloured striped fabric tote bag and a large cardboard storage box bearing the printed maker’s name Villeroy & Boch and the date 1748.
